Atlanta Area School for the Deaf


Visiting the old school where I worked for many, many years!
Meeting old friends/staff I worked with and seeing students in the summer school...
Some students whom I last saw 8 years ago STILL remember me...
especially one teenager (whom I taught in the preschool) looked at me as soon as I walked in the room;
he fingerspelled "P.E." I said "Yes" but I didn't know who he was. When he introduced himself, 
I was surprised and said, "Oh my goodness...you were so little and you know who I am!"
Awww..isn't that sweeeeeet?!

Various Teaching and Administrative Positions
2004-2005: Teacher- Taught all subjects for 3rd and 4th grade students with special needs.

2001-2004: Physical Education and Art Teacher- Taught students with disabilities from preschool to high school.

1999-2001: Behavior Specialist- Oversaw the behavior modification of the most needy students.

1994-1997: Outreach Coordinator- Coordinated the school’s sign language classes for parents, represented the school to the public, and gave tours of the school.  Also was in charge of publishing a quarterly newsletter.

1984-1992: Physical Education Teacher- Taught grades Pre-K to HS.

1980-1984: Substitute Teacher- For all subjects and all grades.

Don Galloway was my last "boss" before I moved to Phoenix, Arizona
He will retire this coming October!
